How to navigate and read the information on this site

Information on this site can be accessed using the Search button at the top of each page and filling in the search data in the form. It is not necessary to fill in all the boxes if you are unsure of the data and wild-cards can be used. Alternatively, use the Names button to go to an alphabetic list of family names and the number of people we have with that name. Following the links in the Search results or in the Names index, their personal page can be found. Here, we show a brief story of their life showing the dates of the major events, where we are reasonably sure of the accuracy of that event.

Each of these personal pages has a Family Explorer button that, when tapped or clicked, displays a small chart showing their parents and grandparents. This chart can be used to directly navigate to these people.
Where the person is included in a larger chart, a link to the chart is provided. When in the chart page, you will probably have to manoeuvre around using the horizontal and vertical scroll-bars of your browser. From here, you can get to different personal pages by tapping or clicking on the person's name or return to the original page using your browser's Back button.

On the personal pages, the details of the basic Birth, Marriage and Death events are shown in date order. Within these, the links take you to more information. After viewing this, you can return using your browser's Back button or use the main menu buttons to return to the index. We may have further personal information that can be shared by sending us an e-mail using the link with the envelope at the bottom of the page of interest.

Next, there is the Family section in which their partner and children are shown, with links to their personal page. If any person is believed to be still living and has not given permission for us to include their data on this site, they are shown as “(information withheld)” and they have no personal page.

Three additional buttons are provided in the main menu. The first links to an index of Places. The next links to a list of the sample family Charts. Finally, there is the link to the Exhibits gallery. In this, tapping or clicking on the small image will link back to the person page or to a larger copy of the image.

When navigating this site, you will see several small icons. These indicate special content or indicate links to other pages:

Pictures   - On the name if interest index page, this icon means there is a picture of this person.
Additional pictures   - Tap or click this icon to see additional pictures or images of documents.
Documents   - Tap or click this icon to see text documents.

How to interpret the information

Family history research involves extensive searching through information and records found in a wide variety of places, some more reliable than others. Because of this, no information shown here should be taken as proof of accuracy without checking the authenticity of original sources.

The information displayed on these pages may change as the research continues and this site is updated. If you have any information that may add to what we have, please e-mail us by tapping or clicking on the envelope icon at the bottom of the page to which you wish to refer. It is via such serendipitous contacts we are able to collectively expand our knowledge of our family.
